NBA: When Will the Kings End Their Run of Futility?

While the Cavaliers and Spurs are among the most in-form teams in the NBA, the same can’t be said for the Kings, who own the worst record in the league at 12-45. The Doug Christie-coached squad recently set a dubious franchise record, losing 15 consecutive matches, following their blowout loss to the Magic in their first game after the All-Star break.

The Kings will visit the Spurs tomorrow, and the NBA 2026 odds don’t have faith in the visitors pulling an upset. However, at this point, they’re incentivised to stack up more losses to improve their position in this summer’s draft.

Elsewhere, the Suns, Pelicans, Heat, Bulls, and Knicks will host the Magic, Sixers, Grizzlies, Pistons, and Rockets as part of tomorrow’s lean six-game schedule.

Continue reading below, as SBOTOP handpicks the Top 3 games from tomorrow’s slate to learn more about the teams that will put up new NBA 2026 highlights.

Detroit Pistons @ Chicago Bulls

Cade Cunningham bolstered his MVP credentials after he led the Pistons to a 126-111 win at Madison Square Garden on Thursday evening during their first game after the All-Star break. The two-time NBA All-Star had 42 points (game-high), eight rebounds, 13 assists, two blocks, and five three-pointers on 17-for-34 shooting from the field across 38 minutes of action.

He received enough support from Paul Reed, Tobias Harris, and Ausar Thompson, who had 18, 11, and 10 points, respectively. The Pistons were without Jalen Duren and Isaiah Stewart, as both big men served their suspensions for their roles in the most recent viral brawl in Charlotte. However, Duren’s two-game ban is finished, so he should be back in the lineup tomorrow.

The Bulls are on a seven-game losing streak, following their 110-101 defeat against the Raptors on Thursday. Anfernee Simons contributed 20 points and four three-pointers on 7-for-18 shooting from the field in 31 minutes of action during the losing effort. Isaac Okoro, Tre Jones, and Collin Sexton added 16, 12, and 11 points.

Given their glut of guards, Chicago handed Jaden Ivey his first career DNP, which raised eyebrows. The former Pistons man might not play again tomorrow due to his reported nagging knee issues.

Betting tip – Detroit Pistons Asian Handicap -11.00 @ 1.96

Sacramento Kings @ San Antonio Spurs

The Kings are in danger of dropping their 16th consecutive game, as almost all of their veteran stars are injured. Domantas Sabonis (knee) and Zach LaVine (finger) were the first casualties, and De’Andre Hunter became the latest key player to be declared out for the rest of the 2025-26 campaign due to a serious eye injury.

Sacramento are coming off a 131-94 defeat against Orlando on Thursday night, despite having six players in double-digit points. Maxime Raynaud had 17 points, 14 rebounds, and four assists on 8-for-13 shooting from the field in 39 minutes of action, while Keegan Murray, Precious Achiuwa, Malik Monk, DeMar DeRozan, and Devin Carter added 15, 14, 14, 13, and 11 points.

The Spurs stretched their unbeaten run to seven games, following a 121-94 rout of the Suns on Thursday. Stephon Castle paced San Antonio with 20 points, four assists, and three steals on 8-for-11 shooting from the field across 21 minutes of action, while Victor Wembanyama, Dylan Harper, De’Aaron Fox, Devin Vassell, and Luke Kornet added 17, 17, 15, 12, and 10 points. After tomorrow, the Spurs will commence their five-game East Coast road trip against the Pistons on Monday.

Betting tip – San Antonio Spurs Asian Handicap -17.50 @ 1.87

Houston Rockets @ New York Knicks

Kevin Durant looks to lead the Rockets to a win when they take on the Knicks in the NBA
LaMelo Ball of the Charlotte Hornets faces Kevin Durant of the Houston Rockets at the Spectrum Center

Kevin Durant was clutch in their 105-101 win over the Hornets on Thursday night. The former league MVP made two pivotal free throws with 3.2 seconds left en route to notching 35 points on 14-for-20 shooting from the field to put the game beyond doubt. He also had eight rebounds, four assists, and three blocks in 36 minutes of action. Jabari Smith Jr., Alperen Sengun, and Reed Sheppard added 15, 13, and 13 points.

His opposite number tomorrow will be Jalen Brunson, who had 33 points, six rebounds, eight assists, and two steals on 12-for-20 shooting from the field in 38 minutes during their recent loss against the Pistons. Karl-Anthony Towns, Landry Shamet, and Josh Hart also contributed 21, 15, and 11 points in the defeat.

After tomorrow, the Knicks will open their three-game road trip against the struggling Bulls on Sunday, so facing the Rockets on the front end of a back-to-back is far from ideal.

Betting tip – Kevin Durant Over (Points) 24.50 @ 1.91
